The Cattle Grids into the Valley of Rocks, which have always been contentious, are now proving to be an unmitigated disaster. They are cattle grids and although the cow might jump over the moon it is unlikely that cattle could leap the present grids. However, there are no cattle in the Valley and goats seeking new territory are having little difficulty in traversing the abyss. There are mutterings that the grid does not even meet the BS 4008:2006 standard. Members of the Society are doing their best to contain the 'naughty goats'. (Goats are not naughty - just doing what nature ordained them to do.) More news on all this as it comes in.
