The spring round up of the Lynton Goats in the Valley of Rocks was held on Tuesday 20th March.
39 goats were gathered and health checked. They were treated for worms, lice and tics by our Vet, Rachel Forster, of Market Vets who was pleased that the goats were in good condition. It seems that the regular round ups are working well.
The Welfare and Management programme that Lynton & Lynmouth Town Council has set up with the help of some funding from the Exmoor National Park means there are two regular round ups a year - Spring and Autumn - with additional round ups if needed.
The RSPCA was present and help was given by members of the Somerset Volunteer Network. Councillors, Town workforce, local residents, Friends of the Goats, Exmoor National Park and additional volunteer vets were also involved. Mother Meldrum's Tearoom opened specially for the event which was much appreciated.
1; 3 kids have needed help this year. Diana Lewis kindly helps with this providing veterinary attention and then rearing them and rehoming when old enough.
